Books:

F. M. Alexander wrote four books, all of which are available to order from the Mouritz website:

The Use of the Self (1932)

This is the shortest and generally reckoned to be the most accessible of Alexander's books.

Man's Supreme Inheritance (1910)

Alexander's first book.

Constructive Conscious Control of the Individual (1923)

The Universal Constant in Living (1941)

Written and published during the Second World War.

Many books have been published on the Alexander Technique. A few which I have found to be accessible and informative are:

Frank Pierce Jones, Freedom to Change: The Development and Science of The Alexander Technique. (London: Mouritz Ltd., 1997)

Gelb, Michael. Body Learning. (London: Aurum Press, 2004)

Wilfrid Barlow, The Alexander Principle (London: Orion, 1990)

Joe Searby,  Live Better: Alexander Technique (London: Duncan Baird Publishers, 2007)

The most complete biography of Alexander so far, one which is both sympathetic and honest, is:

Michael Bloch, F. M.: The Life of Frederick Matthias Alexander, Founder of the Alexander Technique (London: Little Brown, 2004)
